Movie Review: Chef (2014)

I was really curios about this movie but I didn't read any reviews or watch the trailer before watching the whole movie. I wanted to be surprised and have that feeling of being in the movie with the cast. I’m glad that I did because this movie just makes me happy.

Well aside from seeing delicious food being cooked and eaten with pleasure, I love the coming together of a family. Nothing is more precious to see the joy of your kid being with you, learning from you and respecting you even after everything that happened before with them. Sometimes, when life happens we got really hooked up with it, we do stupid things and hurt people. We become proud and take everything else for granted. And when life punch you back in the gut, you realized what is important and who are there for you when you needed them.

You could really relate to the movie since it is showing how the latest technology is affecting and revolutionizing everything. Everyone can easily post something about you and then it will go viral. Some people would find what happened to Chef funny but that would really happy in real life and mess up everything. It’s just comforting to know that if you are really passionate and good at something, everything will work out just fine. From ChefCarlCasper to El Jefe, that is something right?
For the scenery, you got it. Travelling automatically gives you that and this movie showed iconic places. For the music, they are really catchy and you would always want to dance with it. The actors are great. Jon Favreau (Carl) can look goofy, desperate, passionate and realistic. Emjay Anthony (Percy) is really cool and adorable.  Martin is funny. Sultry Scarlett Johansson. Sofia Vergara is as always sexy and charming. And who would forget about Robert Downey Jr. here? Overall, the movie is really good and you would want to watch it a couple of time more with your kids.
